"City of God" (Portuguese: "Cidade de Deus") is a critically acclaimed Brazilian crime drama film directed by Fernando Meirelles and Kátia Lund. The film is based on a true story and explores the lives of two young boys, one who becomes a photographer and the other a powerful crime lord, growing up in the slums of Rio de Janeiro.
