As the game progresses, the siblings find themselves transported into the world of Jumanji, where they must navigate treacherous jungles, avoid deadly creatures, and confront the game's villain, Van Pelt (Jonathan Hyde). Along the way, they are joined by two adults, Alan Parrish (Robin Williams) and Karen (Bonnie Hunt), who have been trapped in the game for 26 years.
