In the early Mortal Kombat games, Myliss was portrayed as a queen who was deeply in love with the god of thunder, Raiden. However, her love for Raiden was unrequited, and she eventually turned to dark magic to try and win his heart. This unrequited love led to her becoming a villainous character, often finding herself at odds with the main heroes of the series.
