Stargirl's origin story is unique and refreshing. Courtney Whitmore, played by Brec Bassinger, is a cheerleader who moves to the small town of Blue Valley, Nebraska, with her mother. While exploring her new home, she stumbles upon a mysterious staff that once belonged to a superhero called Starman. As she begins to experiment with the staff's powers, she discovers that she has the ability to wield its energy and becomes the superhero known as Stargirl.
