The film is divided into three chapters. The first chapter introduces the Tramp and his failed attempts to help the flower girl. The second chapter shows the Tramp's efforts to help the girl by becoming a wealthy man, and the third chapter reveals the girl's blindness and the Tramp's ultimate sacrifice to help her.
