Namitha was born into a Telugu-speaking family in Mumbai. She started her acting career as a child artist and made her debut in the 1995 Tamil film "Vetrikaadu." However, it was her role in the 1999 film "Snehapoorvam" that brought her into the limelight. Her performance earned her a nomination for the Best Actress award at the Kerala State Film Awards.
